Every year kids and parents alike set cookies out for Santa Claus as a thank you for gifts set under the tree. However, the biggest debate is which cookie Santa would appreciate the most. Some people say classic chocolate chip, while others argue oatmeal seals the deal. Crinkle cookies
Crinkle cookies are the perfect winter cookie, often resembling snow on the ground. These moist, sweet , chocolatey cookies may be a little involved but the result is always…YUM!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup confectioners’ sugar
(for an extra gooey cookie, secure 2 cups chocolate chunks, but chips work just fine.)
First, mix 2 cups sugar, cocoa, and oil in a medium-large bowl or mechanical mixing bowl until smooth. Once mixture is smooth add in vanilla extract, to taste or by specifications. (If you choose to use chocolate chips/chunks, this is the easiest time to add them).
Secondly, combine your dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Then slowly add into wet ingredients while mixing thoroughly. Once mixed, cover and refrigerate for 2-6 hours.
Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Once chilled, make one plate of your remaining white sugar and another plate of powdered sugar.
Remove dough from fridge and with an ice cream scoop, scoop dough and roll into an even ball. Then roll the ball in white sugar, then roll again in powdered sugar. Place the ball on a cookie sheet and repeat with the remaining dough. Placing each cookie 1 inch apart.
Once finished with your dough, bake for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

These cookies are a fun project to get the entire family involved. While every house is sending Santa chocolate cookies, your house can be unique with a sweet fruity cookie.
Ingredients
¾ cups softened butter
¼ cup powdered sugar (optional)
½ cup white sugar
2 egg yolks
1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
½ cup of fruit preserves (your choice)
⅓ cup vanilla extract
⅓ almond extract
⅓ rum extract
Directions
In a medium bowl combine the butter, sugar, egg yolks, and your extracts with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Then slowly add in flour until combined into a soft dough.
Chill for 1-2 hours
Once chilled, scoop out the dough with an ice cream scoop. Roll your dough into a ball and place onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.
Then place your thumb and press lightly into the middle of your cookie dough leaving an indentation in the dough without flattening it.
Then take an apple corer spoon and scoop your fruit preserves into your indented cookie, repeat until you run out of dough.
Then bake at 375 degrees F for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
