The eight-member boy group, ATEEZ, has just made history as the first South Korean boy group to ever perform at Coachella and one of two boy groups to have their own pop-up exhibition in the Grammy Museum.
Coming from a relatively unknown company, KQ Entertainment, they live up to the title of self-made. At one point, they were the only group under their company. At times, their expenses were even paid for out of the CEO’s pocket. Therefore, it means a lot for the members and their fans to see their hard work come to fruition.
ATEEZ has worked for six years to be able to earn the chance to perform at an event as big as Coachella. From worrying about whether people would come to their shows and advertising their music with poster boards on the street, they now have a fanbase amassing millions of numbers and have performed on hundreds of stages.
With crazy visuals and graphics, a live band, insane props, and intense choreography, ATEEZ has made a performance worth remembering, instilling their influence within all those who witnessed their prowess as professionally trained performers.
One member, Choi Jongho, impressed many with his vocals and high notes even despite the windy weather. Another, Park Seonghwa, began trending minutes after his passionate performance during their song “Wonderland,” screaming in exhaustion and frustration with the goal of giving himself enough energy to be able to keep going through their performance successfully. Netizens praised him for his perseverance and dedication to keeping up a great show.
ATEEZ had the opportunity to perform on two weekends on Coachella’s Sahara Stage. While it may not have been the Main Stage, ATEEZ still garnered lots of attention from non-fans at nearby performances, adding an increase to their fame and renown in the entertainment industry and across the globe.
