It’s that time of year again where MHS celebrates Halloween with trick or treating around the track. Track or Treat, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. this Wednesday, is for the young kids of the Merrillville community to come out and get an early start to Halloween.
A total of 29 different sports teams and clubs will be attending — dressed for the occasion — to pass out candy to the kids.
“I believe this is important for our own HS kids to give back to their community,” Athletic Director Amy Beckham said. “This provides our parents with a safe and fun place to trick or treat.”
All trick-or-treaters must be in some kind of costume and be accompanied by an adult.
It’s for youngsters up to sixth grade from Merrillville. There is a $5 admission per child, and all profits are donated to the Special Olympics.
