You may know Peyton List from a popular show called School Spirits where she plays a ghost. List also plays a ghost in the new Netflix movie Girl Haunts Boy. While this movie and the series have many similarities, Girl Haunts Boy is very different.
The movie starts as a girl named Bea (List) dies and turns into a ghost. Decades later, she meets a young man named Cole (played by Michael Cimino) when he moves into her house. The first 30 minutes of this movie gives you important background as you get introduced to Cole, and learn that he’s dealing with the recent death of his father.
It shows how Cole meets new friends and the challenges he is faced with. There are many different emotions portrayed throughout this movie, including romance and comedy with family friendly elements as the two go on an adventure trying to break an ancient curse.
The end of this movie makes me want to shed a tear. It taught me how to cherish what I have before it’s gone. It also taught me that you should always take a risk, no matter the outcome nor what you are afraid of. This movie taught me how to cherish something, and not to take anything for granted. This movie is heartfelt and ends off both sad and joyful. This movie made me question the world around me.
So if you are waiting on the series School Spirit to come out with another season you can instead check out this movie. It is perfect for if you want to just relax with your family, enjoying some popcorn and hot chocolate. This movie will leave you wanting more, and happy that you are spending time with your loved ones while the opportunity is still there.
