Smile 2 is an American psychological supernatural horror film directed by Parker Fin.
It’s the sequel to the movie “Smile” made in 2022, but the real question is, is it worth the watch? The movie is about two hours and 12 minutes long, but it’s definitely worth the time.
When it comes to comparing the first movie to this one, this movie really shows what this “entity” could really do to people and the power it has over them. This movie plays more into the psychological horror.
The movie stars Naomi Scott who plays a singer returning after an accident. When she is getting ready for her upcoming concert, we see her mom telling her to stay at the hotel. But she gets a text from a man and goes to his place. From the moment she shows up you could tell that something was wrong with the man. After she asks him to get something for her, he comes back “different” and then he kills himself in front of her while smiling.
So now the entity is with her now. Throughout the movie she’s tweaking out in front of people because she’s seeing these things and she ends up meeting a guy who seems to know what’s happening to her.
He also explains how this entity could control her mind and her view on reality, so it could break her down and make her weak. To me that simple fact is the most interesting and important thing to keep in mind while watching this movie. It gets to the point where even you as the viewer might not know what is really going on. I think that alone makes Smile 2 better than the first one, because it just gives you a whole new perspective on these movies as a whole. Watching Smile 2 may even have you see the first movie different from when you first watched.
Box office wise the movie has already made $109 million world wide with a under $30 million budget. This horror film is definitely worth watching.
