The Terrifier movies are sweeping the nation with how gruesome and disgusting and just downright violent the movies have been. This series of movies has made people leave the theater, made people throw up, and even made the actor playing the killer uncomfortable.
In the first movie we follow a girl who is picked randomly by Art the Clown but in the next 2 movies Art picks a girl named Sienna to torment and kill because she is an angel who is meant to counter the demonic nature of Art, and throughout the movie we follow both characters with the final girl trying to stop art and with art killing people in the most violent and gruesome ways.
“The clown is like a mime he doesn’t talk and he chases down his victims and kills them in different ways, and one way he’s killed somebody was he hung up a girl upside down and cut her from butt to head,” Sophomore Billy Williams said.
The main draw to these movies are the kills, which are graphic and bloody the kills are. For example, in the third movie a girl’s mouth is wired open with a funnel and rats are shoved down her throat, but that isn’t even the worst one. There are much more graphic kills in these movies.
“There is this one part in the movie where the clown trick or treats at this girls house, but the girl doesn’t give him any candy so he breaks in and cuts her face and then he rips of her back and puts salt and bleach on her ripped off back,” Sophomore Xochi Flores said.
The other reason people watch these movies is because of Art the Clown. People like to see his different antics. Even though he kills his victims in different gorey and brutal ways, he has this goofy aura.
“The clown named Art has some hilarious mannerisms such as striking absurd poses or making silly faces. The way he kills his victims are often horrific and also playful,” Sophomore DeAndre Love said.
The formula seems to be working. So far, Terrifier 3 has made over $76 million worldwide, while costing just $2 million to make.
