Many people said Drake’s career was over after he “lost the rap beef”, but he recently dropped an album that proved this to be false.
This album Some Sexy Songs 4 U sold over 248k units in its first week and debuted #1 on the Billboards. Compared to other Drake albums, this was low, but Drake’s numbers are so crazy that this being a low-selling album for him is still leading him to having the most streams this year.
With 287.04 million on-demand official streams of its songs, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U netted the largest streaming week for an album in 2025. Other artists have proved to bot views and streams on spotify, but Drake’s numbers never went down.
Going deeper into this album, it was a collaboration album with PartyNextDoor and had features like Yebba and Pim.
The first song is “CN Tower” has Drake talking about the tower he sat on in his previous album Views. He goes on to talk about how beautiful the city of Toronto is and compares that beauty to a girl. Drake goes on talking about a girl and how he hears different things about her. He says, “You pretend to be so happy but it’s a bold face lie”. Then PartyNextDoor comes into the album and sings his first lyrics. This song is like a mixture of singing and rapping. I would rate this song like a 8/10.
“Spider-Man Superman” is another great son. “Spiderman-Superman” demonstrates the evolution of Drake through the main theme that despite loving this woman, he knows he can’t save her. This song blew up on TikTok and became a trend where someone poses like spiderman on the ground and then someone else jumps or flys over them like superman. The beat of these songs gives me old house music vibes. This is one of the first songs that we really hear Partynextdoor and his vocals were dang near perfect. With them going back and forth on the track and the way it’s mixed, I have to give this song a 9.5/10.
“Deeper” is the next song and it’s a Partynextdoor only solo song. It’s pretty good. He’s reminiscing about a night he had with a girl and how he only wants her to himself. I’ll give his song a 8.5/10.
The next song on the album is Gimme a Hug, and he samples I Miss You, which is a classic all generations know. He takes shots at Joe Budden in this song calling him out of his name. He says “F the rap beef i’m trying to get the party lit”. Basically meaning he doesn’t care about the beef anymore because he’s just focused on dropping music. Then it goes into the sample of “I Miss You” and it’s honestly perfect. I don’t want to glaze Drake, but this song is a 10/10 and if you disagree you’re just hating on the man’s name.
“Nokia” is probably the best and is the most popular song on the album. He’s wondering who’s calling his phone and he names different girls. When I first heard this song I had it on repeat the whole day. It’s the perfect mix of a party song and a R&B or rap song. Everyone loves this song, especially girls. This is their favorite song and it’s still on top of the billboard despite coming out a month ago. You know it’s a good song when your parents listen to it. I will give Nokia a 100000/10. It’s honestly that good.
Overall, this Drake album is similar to listening to older Drake and that’s when I felt like he was best. This album had some down songs but the highs on this album is incredible so I have to give it a 8.5/10.
