NFL player Ryan Neal returning to have jersey retired

On Feb. 17th, during halftime of the boys’ basketball game against Michigan City, the Pirates will retire Ryan Neal’s high school football jersey. Neal who graduated in 2014 currently plays safety for the Seattle Seahawks. Before the game, he will be signing autographs from 6-7 p.m., along with his brother Michael Neal, a former Green Bay Packer.
Neal graduated from the University of Southern Illinois in 2018. After going undrafted, he wound up on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. He made his debut with the team in September 2020, nabbing a last-minute interception to secure a Seattle victory.
