Michael B. Jordan is back in the ring as Adonis Creed with the release of Creed III. We all know about Michael B. Jordan’s work in front of the camera as he’s starred in movies such as RedTails, Fantastic 4 and fan favorite Black Panther. He’s now also behind the camera of Creed III as the director as well as the leading role. With Creed I releasing in 2015 and Creed II releasing in 2018, this is the well anticipated third film of the trilogy.

Creed III focuses on how Adonis Creed is focusing on his career and family time outside the ring as his past comes back to haunt him, when former prodigy boxer and childhood friend Damien resurfaces after he spent time in prison for a crime that was done when the two were young teens, it makes this face-off more than just a fight.

Damien, played by Jonathan Majors, is not new to the big screen as he’s starred in movies such as Hostiles, Devotion and the newly released 2023 film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors has to be the most menacing villain of the series, there are moments where you feel for him, then you hate him, then you feel for him again. It was a real emotional battle from start to finish!

The chemistry between Jordan and Majors is unmatched, it really makes you really feel the connection between their characters as you can feel every ounce of tension and intensity throughout the film. The plot of the film was well made, not only do you get the hard hitting action in the ring, but you get the sentimental feeling and emotion of the story.

The movie’s soundtrack was produced by Dreamville lead by rapper J Cole. The music was perfect for the occasion, the fast pace and up-beat music was great for all the action scenes. The film received optimistic reviews and feedback from critics on Jordan’s directing and Major’s role. The film has earned $182 million dollars, making it the fifth-highest grossing film of 2023 so far.

Michael B. Jordan has already confirmed a fourth movie in the Creed franchise. In an interview with IGN Jordan talks about expanding the franchise beyond Creed and a possibility for a spinoff.  “I just want to expand the Creed-verse within reason, but definitely expect other things around Creed for sure,” he said.
