Senior year is half over and graduation is going to be here sooner than you think. Here are some important things you need to know.
One of the main topics floating around the school was about our graduation plans with and our senior class currently 506 students.
The administration addressed rumors about having two graduation ceremonies and confirmed that it was incorrect.
Another concern was all of us being able to fit into the gym.
“Your senior class has drastically dropped since your junior year. Like you guys had 600 kids, we’re down to 506, which is less than last year’s at this point. So once we get around to who qualifies, because remember not everyone graduates automatically you have to qualify to graduate,” Senior Principal Schoon said.
Other things relating to being able to graduate such as eligibility and credit requirements are things students should look out for. You have to have 40 credits by the end of the second trimester to decide who walks or who doesn’t.
“The absolute biggest deadline is the very last day of the second trimester. Once the day hits, the next week we start looking at who’s at that credit account which is 40 and who’s not.”
We should also be made aware of always being at school because attendance is always important all of the time.
Senior Principal Schoon has advice for us seniors to get us to stay focused for the rest of the year.
“Absolutely try your best. Be here on time, be where you’re supposed to be at all times, take an active role in your learning, and good things will happen.”
