As Halloween Comes near so does Merrillville’s yearly fundraiser for Indiana Special Olympics. Track or Treat will run on 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at the outdoor track. The date was moved to Wednesday from Thursday due to bad weather in the forecast.

Student-athletes and MHS club members will be passing out candy. There will be about 30 teams and clubs participating.

All treaters have to be sixth grade or younger in costume with an adult. 

Admission per child is $5. 

The concession stands will be open and serving hot dogs and nachos for $3; popcorn and cold beverages for $2; and hot chocolate for a dollar. 

Only Merrillville students may attend. 

If you’re handing out candy you must arrive at 5:15 pm in costume entering at the double gate.
