At the Gymnastics Sectional Championship, the Pirate gymnasts placed 6th as a team, and Senior Caidyn Morgan placed 6th on beam with a Regional qualifying score of 9.225. Morgan also placed 6th in the All-Around with a 35.75, which qualifies her to compete in all four events this Saturday at the Regional Championship at Valparaiso High School.

“There’s truly nothing like achieving the goal you know you have worked so hard for,” Morgan said.

“I quite literally cried after every event… because I knew I did my best, but I was also hoping that my best was good enough for me to advance. The tears were a result of pride in myself and how I competed, as well as the fear that it wasn’t enough.”

Morgan knew she met the qualifying score for beam, but qualifying All-Around is what surprised her.

“To be called up for placing 6th All-Around was a complete shock to me,” she said. “This time the tears were of both joy and relief. Everything I had worked so hard for was finally happening.”
