Meet Rosa Blevins, a passionate flower enthusiast who has turned her love for flowers into a growing business making custom bouquets for special occasions like Valentine’s Day and birthdays.

“What inspired me to start making custom bouquets was my Tt. I always wanted to start my own small business to make extra money, but I wasn’t really into hair, nails, or making jewelry. I love flowers, so my Tt gave me the idea to make bouquets, and I haven’t stopped since,” the senior said.

Although her journey has been rewarding, it hasn’t been without its challenges.

“One challenge I face is making sure that all the materials arrive in a timely manner. I have been facing problems with delayed packages, so I have to put in more money to make sure customers receive their bouquets,” Rosa said.

Despite the hurdles, she remains focused on delivering quality work, especially during the busy Valentine’s season.

“My favorite holiday is to make flowers for Valentine’s Day. It is very stressful considering the amount of orders I receive, but I enjoy making other girls happy,” she said.

When asked about her tips for others looking to dive into flower arranging, she offered practical advice: “Flower arranging is quite easy, but my tip would be not to cheat yourself but to make your prices reasonable. It may get overwhelming, but never be afraid to ask for help.”

To determine pricing, Rosa factors in the flower count, add-ons, and delivery fees.

“I like orders to be placed two weeks in advance, but if not, I do apply a rush fee,” she said.

While running her flower business isn’t always smooth sailing, she finds motivation in her customers’ satisfaction.

“I love when people admire my work, it makes me feel like I am doing all the right things, and to keep going even though it may be a lot sometimes,” Rosa said.

As Valentine’s Day draws near, Rosa is busy crafting beautiful, personalized bouquets, each one filled with thoughtfulness and care. Her small business is a reminder of the power of following one’s passion and the joy of making others feel special.
