What are you most looking forward to at Prom?

“I think I’m mostly looking forward to just kind of being with my friends and being able to dress up and see everybody else and kind of have a sense of feeling grateful. Since prom has made its comeback last year after COVID, it’s really important to me seeing the community and seeing what Merrillville is beyond high school and that we all see each other every single day in the halls. At Prom people just kind of feel their best. They feel out of their shell a little bit.”

Why do you think you should be voted for Prom Queen?

I think I should be voted for Prom Queen because I think that whether you had interaction with me that was small, whether you had interaction that I made an impact on every single person I met and I think that majority of those interactions are positive. I try to compliment people, I try to make them feel a sense of community, a sense of welcome, a sense of helpfulness. I feel like that is just kind of like a really good representation of what Prom Court means and I feel like people should vote for me because I really represent the things that we look for friendliness, kindness, and kind of being a helping hand.

They love their incentives, kind of like with people kind of pass things out and just kind of being myself and I feel like there might be a sphere which is really showing school spirit and being active among my peers and maybe putting up posters and things like that.

What is your prediction about who will win?

I think that we all hope that we’ll win and think, wouldn’t it be so great? It would kind of just give that true “Wow I’m like Prom Queen” moment  inside your head and it would just be really fun if I do win Prom Queen and I just feel honor in that moment.
