Voter registration deadline coming up quickly

Sign up by Monday for a chance to win a prize

Voting season has come around, and now is the time to exercise your right to vote!

If you will be 18 by November 2024, you are eligible to register to vote. To be able to vote during the Indiana Primary on May 7, 2024, you will need to be registered by April 8, 2024. For the General Election on November 5, 2024, make sure you get registered this fall on October 7, 2024.

The Social students department is offering incentives for those eligible students who register by Monday for the primary. Just take proof to Mr. Hofer, Mr. Moslander or Mr. Winters to be entered into a drawing.

What’s the process? Go to https://indianavoters.in.gov/  to put in your state ID/driver’s license number and your name onto the online registration from. It only take 1 minute!

Make sure you check for eligibility requirements! If you qualify, proceed to filling out the application which only takes 10 minutes. Afterwards, your registration confirmation/polling location will be posted online and mailed to your home address.

Even moreso, Mr. Hofer, Mr. Moslander, and Mr. Winters are hosting a drawing for a gift card. All you have to do is bring your physical or electronic voter registration card to room B102 (Hofer), BC103 (Moslander), or AB101N (Winters) to have your name entered for the prize.

Need more convincing? Take it from Mr. Moslander! He advises all those who are voting to make sure you learn about the candidates and find out if their beliefs match yours.

“… when you hear what they say, and it sounds like what you would say because you have your beliefs, then that’s why you would want to vote for that person,” he said. “It’s like putting yourself in that position, so you follow the person that sounds like you, not the person who looks like this, or the first gender this, or the first race that, or anything like that.”

If you need any of your questions answered, don’t hesitate to visit either Mr. Hofer’s, Mr. Moslander’s, or Mr. Winters’ classrooms for additional information! Good voting!
